Nawaz Sharif, A Liar, Says Musharraf
Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf called former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, a “compulsive liar”, a report in the media.
An interview with ARY channel, Musharraf said Sharif, suffered from “paranoia” and that’s why “speaks against me day and night.”
“He (Sharif) is a compulsive liar,” the former military commander was quoted as saying by Gulf News.
Musharraf overthrew Sharif’s government and took power in October 1999, a bloodless coup. Later, he sent into exile Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.
As prime minister, Sharif had agreed to a “sell” on the Kashmir issue during the visit to Lahore in February 1999 by the then Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, Musharraf said.
He criticized Sharif, taking account of Pakistan’s nuclear tests in May 1998, in response to similar tests in India.
“Nawaz Sharif was against the exams, but agreed under pressure from others,” Musharraf said.
The former president now living in self-imposed exile in London since leaving Pakistan in 2008. He also formed a political party – the All Pakistan Muslim League.
